What Promptchan does

Promptchan AI is first an image and video generator, then a companion chat. It is run by VisionAI Labs Limited in Dublin and also sells a public API for businesses.

• Image generation in realistic and anime styles, up to 4K on Pro, with unlimited "casual" generations on Pro.
• Video generation, listed together with voice calls under the Pro plan.
• Companion chat with images inside the chat; chat limits double on Plus and are 5x on Premium, unlimited on Pro.
• Voice: voice messages cost 1 Gem, voice calls 2 Gems; calls are listed under Pro.
• Custom characters (Pro) and AI boyfriends.
• 10 interface languages, including Simplified Chinese at promptchan.com/zh-CN, Japanese, Korean and Hindi.

The yearly column is our arithmetic: a 28-day cycle repeats 13 times in 364 days. That is the detail most reviews miss — Plus is not "$14.99 a month", it is $14.99 thirteen times a year.

Gems are the in-app currency for voice and extra generations. Each plan includes a set number per cycle, and paid plans get 50% off extra Gems. Gem pack prices are not listed on the public upgrade page.

Which plan? If you only want images, Plus or Premium is enough. If you want video, voice calls or your own characters, only Pro includes them.

The free tier in detail

Promptchan's free tier is more concrete than most. Per the upgrade page you get a few starter Gems, image creation, free chat messages that refill every few hours, and one-time bonus tasks for extra Gems — with no card required. The exact number of starter Gems and the refill interval are not stated, so the free tier is best used to test image quality and style rather than for long chats.

If chat is your priority, the free plan will feel tight: Plus doubles the chat allowance, Premium gives five times as much, and only Pro makes chat unlimited.

Card or crypto: how to pay

Promptchan is one of the few services where the payment method changes how billing works:

• Card: a subscription that renews every 28 days until you cancel.
• Crypto or G2A: a fixed period that does not renew. When it ends, access to paid features ends, and nothing is charged again.

If you only want one cycle — for example to try Pro's video and voice calls — crypto or G2A is the safer choice. If you pay by card, note the date: 28 days is shorter than a calendar month, so the charge arrives a few days earlier each calendar month.

What Gems buy

Using the costs on the upgrade page: Plus's 100 Gems cover 100 voice messages (1 Gem each) or 50 voice-call units at 2 Gems each — the page does not say whether that is per minute or per call. Premium's 400 Gems and Pro's 800 Gems scale the same way. Extra Gems are half price on any paid plan.

Who Promptchan is for

Promptchan suits people who come for the images and stay for the chat: creators who want realistic or anime pictures, and users who want to try an uncensored generator for free. It is a weaker fit if you want a long-term companion with deep memory — memory is not listed as a feature — or if you want voice calls without paying for the top plan.

1. Open promptchan.com (or /zh-CN for Chinese) and confirm you are 18 or older.
2. Create a free account — no card is required.
3. Use the starter Gems and free image creation to test the style you like.
4. Do the one-time bonus tasks for extra Gems.
5. If you upgrade, decide between card (auto-renews every 28 days) and crypto or G2A (fixed period, no renewal).
