Search "AI girlfriend app" and you expect an App Store button. For adult AI girlfriends that button almost never exists. App stores keep tight rules on explicit content, so the services in our ranking run in the browser instead and offer a "web app" you pin to your home screen. It opens full-screen, keeps you logged in and feels like an app. A few go further with an Android APK. Below is what each one actually offers on iPhone and Android, from the brands' own pages and store searches (checked 2 Nov 2026).

How to add an AI girlfriend web app to your phone
- Open the site in your phone's main browser: Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android. In-app browsers (inside social apps) often can't install web apps.
- Sign in once. The home-screen app shares your browser login, so you won't need to sign in again.
- iPhone: tap Share, then "Add to Home Screen". Android: open the Chrome menu, then "Add to Home screen" or "Install app".
- Open it from the new icon. It runs full-screen, without the address bar, like any other app.
That is the method OurDream AI's help center describes, and it works the same way for the others.
Web app or store app: what changes
- Content. The adult features (explicit chat, NSFW pictures and video) live on the web versions; app-store rules on explicit content are the usual reason these brands stay on the web.
- Payment. On the web you pay the brand directly by card and, on some, crypto (OurDream AI, Promptchan, Kupid AI, Lovescape, FantasyGF). Several bill under a neutral name: DreamGF, FantasyGF, Lovescape and heyGF say so; Candy AI shows "EverAI".
- Updates. A web app is always the current version; there is nothing to update.
- Calls and camera. Voice and video calls run in the browser. Allow the microphone when asked. For call features by app, see AI voice and video calls.
AI girlfriend APK: what to watch out for
"AI girlfriend APK" and "free AI girlfriend app for Android" are common searches, and they attract fake downloads. Three rules:
- Get an APK only from the brand's own site. Of the apps we rank, GirlfriendGPT and LusyChat offer one.
- Skip "mod", "premium unlocked" and "cracked" versions. They are pirated, can carry malware, and the AI runs on the brand's servers anyway, so nothing really unlocks.
- Check the seller of any store app that uses a brand's name. The DreamGF lookalikes in the App Store are the example we found.
Store apps you may have heard of
Some companion and character apps do have store listings: Nomi on the App Store and Google Play (rated 17+ / Mature), Janitor AI's iOS app "Janitor: Interactive Stories", and Character.AI on the App Store. We don't link to them: we have no partnership with these brands, and they are not the adult services this page compares. If you came from one of them, see Janitor AI alternatives or Character AI alternatives.
Which app to put on your phone
For the widest choice of characters and both iPhone and Android covered, GirlfriendGPT or OurDream AI. For the lowest price, Candy AI at $3.99 a month on the 12-month plan. For a Chinese interface on the phone, GirlfriendGPT, Kupid AI, Promptchan or My Dream Companion. For video calls in your pocket, Xotic AI or FLIRTcam.AI. Compare them all on our AI girlfriend ranking.
FAQ
Is there an AI girlfriend app on the App Store?
None of the adult partners in our ranking has an App Store listing we could confirm. They run in Safari and can be added to the home screen. Promptchan's upgrade page mentions iOS and Android, but we did not find the store listings. Some mainstream character apps are in the stores, but they are not the adult services we review.
Is there an AI girlfriend APK for Android?
Yes, from GirlfriendGPT, which offers an Android APK next to its web app, and LusyChat, which has a Download on Android button. Download an APK only from the brand's own site, never from mirror sites or "mod" versions.
What is the best free AI girlfriend app?
For a phone, one with a clear free allowance and a home-screen app: DreamGF (10 messages a day, up to 50 with a streak) in the browser, Kupid AI (15 messages; installing its web app unlocks free image generations) or Promptchan (free messages every few hours). Full list: free AI girlfriend apps.
Are the DreamGF apps in the App Store official?
No. DreamGF's data shows two unrelated iOS apps with that name from other sellers. The real DreamGF runs on the web only. Check the seller before you install any app with a brand's name.
Are web apps safe to add to my phone?
A home-screen web app is a bookmark that opens full-screen; it installs no code outside your browser and has the same permissions as the website. That makes it lower-risk than an APK from an unknown source.
