How to create your own AI girlfriend in 7 steps
- Choose the app by what you want most. Pictures and video: Candy AI or DarLink AI. A big community to share her with: OurDream AI or GirlfriendGPT. Several characters without a subscription: Kupid AI's passes. Voice calls: OurDream AI, Kupid AI, DreamGF or FantasyGF.
- Pick the style. Realistic or anime. Switching later may mean starting over, so decide first.
- Set her looks. Work from the overall impression to details: build, face, hair, then clothes. She must be a clear adult; give her an adult age.
- Write her personality in a few sentences. Three or four traits and how she talks ("dry humour, short replies, teases you about your cooking") beat a long list of adjectives.
- Give her a backstory and a first scene. How you met and what's happening now. The opening message sets the tone for everything after it.
- Chat, then refine. After 20–30 messages you'll see what's off. Edit the personality instead of correcting her in chat. On GirlfriendGPT you can pin key memories; on Swipey you can view and delete them.

Tips that make a custom character work
- Contradictions make her real. Confident at work, awkward about compliments. Flat characters give flat chats.
- Say what she won't do. Limits in the character description keep her consistent across long chats.
- Mind the memory. Kupid AI remembers the last 30 messages on Pro and 100 on Ultra; FantasyGF's Ultra keeps 300. Important facts belong in the character, not only in old messages.
- Start from an image only if it's yours to use. GoLove can build a character from images, turning them into a text description; use only images you have the rights to, and never a real person's photo without consent.

Yes, on several apps, usually one character. Kupid AI allows 1 own character free, My Lovely AI one character generation on its free Starter plan, Xotic AI 1 custom character, Lovel one character of your own on its free Basic plan; Lovescape says character creation is free after registration. Chatting with her at length and getting explicit pictures will need a plan.
Can I make an AI girlfriend that looks like a real person?
Don't. Recreating a real person (an ex, a colleague, a celebrity) without consent is a deepfake, and the apps forbid it. OurDream AI doesn't accept reference photos at all for that reason. Create a fictional adult character instead.
Can my AI girlfriend speak Chinese?
